This 7 days Uganda Safari offers you the opportunity to see Uganda’s hidden gems that do include primates, diverse landscapes, cultures and so much more. This safari will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park popularly known to be home to the tree climbing, Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park for gorillas trekking, Murchison Falls National Park to see the world’s most powerful waterfall and then Kibale Forest National Park to see chimpanzees among other primates.

Our 7 days Uganda safari starts and ends in Entebbe or Kampala but for travelers who would prefer theirs to start and end their trip in Kigali, Rwanda, we will be able to draw out a possible itinerary for you.

It starts with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Ziwa remains the only place in Uganda where you will be able to see rhinos as they roam in their natural habitat. You will then proceed to the Murchison Falls National park where you will be able to hike to the top of the falls to see how these falls were formed, do a game drive that introduce you to some of the wildlife species that do live within the park and also do a boat cruise that does introduce you to some of the wildlife species like the crocodiles, hippos, several species of birds and much more.

After here, you will embark on a trip to Kibale Forest National Park situated in the western part of the country. The highlight of your safari to this particular park is to see chimpanzees as they play and feed right in their natural habitat. You will also have a chance to see the other primate species and bird species while in this park.

Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains to see the lions, antelopes, buffaloes, elephants, several species of birds and so much more. While in the park you will as well go on boat cruise along the Kazinga channel that will give you picturesque views of the park, see wildlife species like the crocodiles, hippos and so much more.

Your safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park is incomplete if you don’t get the opportunity to visit the Ishasha sector of the park popularly known to be home to the tree climbing lions. You will do a brief game drive as you head to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Detailed 7 days Uganda safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover at Ziwa rhino sanctuary

To start this trip, you will need to have arrived in the country the previous night or arriving in the early morning hours. Before you embark on this 7 days Uganda safari, our guide/driver will brief you on what you should expect on this trip and right after that you will set off in the early morning hours to avoid the heavy Kampala Jam.

You will get to enjoy the beautiful scenic views along the Kampala – Masindi route and upon reaching Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, you will have a stopover to see rhinos right in their natural habitat. After Right after here, you will head to Masindi town for Lunch.

Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and once you arrive in the park, you will proceed and hike to the top of the falls to see how the magnificent Murchison Falls were formed. Our driver will then take you to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise

After your early morning breakfast, our driver will take for a game drive within the park that does introduce you to some of the wildlife species as they roam freely in the national park and these do include; lions, elephants, spotted hyenas, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, several species of birds and so much more.

You will then head back to your lunch for Lunch and rest for a few minutes. Our driver will then transfer you to a point where you are supposed to get your boat from. While on a boat cruise along the Nile, you will get to see some of the wildlife species that include; hippos, crocodiles, species of birds and much more.

 After your boat cruise, our driver will take you back to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and optional community walk

You will wake up in the early morning, have breakfast and our driver will transfer you to the Kibale Forest National Park which does reward you with incredible scenic views of tea plantations, the lush green hills and valleys, roadside markets and so much more that you can find along this route. You will have a stopover for Lunch in Fort portal and right after that you will proceed to your hotel in Kibale.

Upon arriving to your hotel in Kibale, you will check in and you can choose to go for an optional community walk which does present you an opportunity to get to see how the locals do relate with each other.

You will then return to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up excited because this is the day you will have your first primate experience. Seeing man’s closest relative – Chimpanzees is the most memorable experience you should look forward to. After your morning breakfast, our driver will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing about the guidelines you need to follow while close and during your chimpanzee tracking experience.

After the briefing, you will be led back into the forest to search for chimpanzees and upon seeing them you will be allowed to spend time of up to 1hr while observing and taking as many photos as you want. You will then be led back to the park headquarters where our guide will pick you and take you back to your lodge for lunch.

Right after lunch, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park which is just a few hours from Kibale.

Upon arrival in the park, you will do an evening game drive in the Kasenyi plains where you will see various wildlife animals and after that you will proceed to your lodge for dinner and then rest.

Day 5: Boat cruise and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with a brief game drive in Ishasha sector

After your early morning breakfast, you will go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which presents you an opportunity to see various bird species, crocodiles, hippos and other animals on the shores of the lake. You will then head back to your lodge, take lunch, check out and be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park through the Ishasha sector where you will do a brief game drive that gives you the opportunity to see the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species in the park.

You will continue to Bwindi arriving in the evening hours and you will check in to your lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park and Batwa cultural visit

Early morning breakfast and you will be transferred to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the guidelines you need to follow during gorilla trekking. There four sectors in Bwindi where you can go gorilla trekking and these include; Ruhija, Rushaga, Nkuringo and Buhoma. Our safari takes you to Ruhija which is so far the best trekking point.

After being briefed on the guidelines, you will be led into the park with the help of guides and rangers to search for the location of mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking takes between 3-8hrs depending on the location of gorillas and right after spotting them, you will be allowed to spend time of up to 1hr while observing and taking photos of these massive creatures as they play and feed.

You will then be led back to the park headquarters after seeing gorillas where you will be awarded a certificate indicating that you did participate in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our guide/driver will then transfer you back to your lodge for lunch.

After lunch and a few hours of resting, our guide will take you for a batwa cultural experience where you will get to see how these people associate and also get the opportunity to see them perform for you folk songs and dance. The batwa initially settled within Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but following the establishment of the park to pave way for conservation, they were resettled in areas surrounding the park. After visiting the batwa, you will be led back to your lodge for dinner and then resting.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala

After your early morning breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a trip back to Kampala or Entebbe. Along this route, you will get to enjoy scenic views of the beautiful countryside made up of the lush green rolling hills and valleys. You will as well have a look at the different roadside markets where you can have a stop and purchase some farm produce.

Upon reaching Mbarara, you will have a stopover at Agip Motel for lunch and then proceed to Kampala. You will have another stopover at the equator sign in Kayabwe where you can take as many photos as you while you are in two different hemispheres at the same time. While here, you will also get the chance to see and purchase hand crafted items like stools, clothings, wrist bands, and much more.

You will arrive in Kampala in the evening and our driver/guide will drop you to any hotel of your choice in Kampala or Entebbe. If you heading direct to the airport to catch your next flight back home, our driver will drop you there at no extra cost.
