Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

To begin this 3 days gorilla trekking Uganda safari, you will need to have arrived in the country the day or arriving in the early morning hours before 9 am in the morning. Our 3 days gorilla trekking Uganda safari will begin with our driver picking you up at your hotel of residence or at the airport and then embark on a trip to the western part of Uganda.

To the south western Uganda, you will use the Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara route and on this route you will be able to enjoy the beautiful scenic views of this part of the country plus be able to have a stopover at the Equator sign in Kayambwe before you proceed up country.

You will have a stopover in Mbarara for lunch at Igongo Cultural center. While here, you can choose to taste the local dishes and also get an opportunity to know about the rich culture of the Ankole people.

From here, you will proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as you enjoy the beautiful scenic views of the country. You will arrive in Bwindi in the evening, check in to your lodge and have dinner. There after you will need to rest early to prepare for the highlight of your safari.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake Up excited because this is the day you will get to see man’s closest relative in their natural habitat as they feed and play. You will wake up early in the morning, take breakfast and our guide will take you to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines you need to follow while with and close to mountain gorillas in Bwindi.

Gorilla trekking involves heading into the dense rainforest of Bwindi in search of the location of mountain gorillas and this takes between 2-7hrs depending on the where the gorillas are situated.

After briefing, you will be led into the jungle with the help of guides and armed rangers who will equip you with all the necessary information you need regarding gorillas in Bwindi and what you should expect. It’s during the trekking that you will be able to see other wildlife species that reside within the park’s premises and these include several species of birds, insects, butterfly species and so much more.

Upon seeing the gorillas on your 3 days gorilla trekking Uganda safari, you will be allowed to spend time of up to one hour observing and taking as many photos as you want of these endangered species as they play and feed.

After one hour you will be led back to the park headquarters and awarded with a certificate to prove that you did participate in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our guide/driver will then pick you up and drive you back to your lodge for lunch. You can choose to rest after this tiresome activity or go for a Batwa community walk tour that introduces you to their way of life, get to see them dance and tell stories from ancient times.

Alternatively, you can go for a trip to Lake Mutanda or boat canoing on Lake Bunyonyi but please note that this depends on the sector you choose to track gorillas from.

Head back to your lodge for dinner and then rest.
