Detailed 10 Days Best Uganda safari

Day 1: Arrival, transfer to Ziwa and hike to the top of the Murchison falls

To start this trip, you need to be arriving in the country by early morning hours or in the country already. This is because the trip starts in the early morning hours to avoid the heavy Kampala traffic jam. Our driver will pick you either at the airport or hotel of your choice and lead you out of Kampala to embark on trip to Murchison Falls Narional Park.

Towards Murchison, you will have a stop over at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to have a look at the remaining species of rhinos in their habitat. This is the only place in Uganda where you will be able to see rhinos and the experience is completely rewarding and right after rhino tracking you will head to Masindi town for lunch.

From Masindi, you will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park and head straight to hike to the top of the falls to see how they were formed. From here, you will then head to your lodge, check in, have dinner and rest.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise

After your early morning breakfast, our guide will take you for a game drive in park which presents you an opportunity to have a look at various wildlife species as they roam within the park’s boundaries. Some of the wildlife species you can look forward to seeing on your game drive include; lions, elephants, spotted hyenas, antelopes, buffaloes, giraffes, several species of birds and so much more.

After your game drive, you will head back to your lodge for lunch and a few minutes of resting. You will then be led to a point where you are supposed to get your boat cruise from.

On your boat cruise, you will be able to see some of the wildlife species like the crocodiles, hippos among others and also get to have spectacular views of the Murchison Falls as it pours water downstream.

After your boat cruise, you will head back to your lodge for dinner and then resting.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and optional community visit

You will wake, have breakfast as prepared by your lodge and our guide/driver will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park situated in Fort-portal city in western Uganda. Once you reach fort portal town, you will have a stopover for lunch and later proceed to your reserved lodge.

In the evening you will have an optional community visit to discover how people here relate with each other, their lifestyle and so much more.

You will then head back to your lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up early in the morning excited about this day because you will get to see man’s closest relative – chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After breakfast, our driver will lead you to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines you need to follow during the tracking and while close to the chimpanzees.

You will then be led into the forest with the help of armed rangers and guides to search for chimpanzees. On spotting these creatures, you will be allowed to spend time of up to 1hour while observing and studying them as they play and feed. You will be allowed to take as many photos as you want of these chimpanzees.

You will then be led back to the park headquarters where our guide will pick you and transfer you to your lodge for lunch. Right after lunch, our guide will drive you out of Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

On arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will do an evening game drive which does introduce you to some animals like the lions, antelopes, hyenas, several species of birds and so much more.

From here, you will head to your lodge, check in and have dinner.

Day 5: Boat cruise, game drive through Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park

After your early morning breakfast, you will go on a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which does give you the opportunity to see species like the crocodiles, hippos, several species of birds and so much more. After your boat cruise, you will head back to your lodge for lunch, check and exit Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Ishasha sector of the park which is popularly known to be home to the tree climbing lions. While here, you will do a brief game drive through this sector to see the tree climbing lions and other wildlife species as they roam freely through the park.

You will then proceed to your lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to check in, have dinner and then rest.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After your early morning breakfast, our guide/driver will pick you from your lodge and take to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on the guidelines to follow during your gorilla trekking and while close to the mountain gorillas.

After briefing, you will be led into the dense rainforest to search for the gorillas and this activity can take between 3-8hrs depending on the location of these massive creatures. On seeing gorillas, you will be allowed to spend time of up to 1hr observing and taking as many photos as you can of these as they play and feed in their natural habitat.

You will then be led back to the park headquarters where you will receive a certificate indicating that you successfully participated in gorilla trekking in Uganda. Our driver will the take you to your lodge for lunch and then right after lunch you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi.

On arrival, you will check in to your lodge, have dinner and rest.

Day 7: Boat canoeing and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will go for boat canoeing on Lake Bunyonyi which has a rich history and was formed as a result of volcanic activity.

After this, you will embark on a trip to Lake Mburo National Park with a stopover in Mbarara city for Lunch. You will reach the park in the evening hours and while there you will go for an evening game drive in the park which does give you the opportunity to see some wildlife species in the park. These include elands, zebras, antelopes, species of birds and so much more.

After the evening game drive, you will head to your lodge to check in, have dinner and rest.

Day 8: Game drive and transfer to Jinja

After an early breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and embark on a game drive before you exit the park for a trip to Jinja.

You will exit the park, have a stopover in Masaka for Lunch and then later at the equator sign in Kayabwe for some photos when you are in two hemispheres at the same time.

From here, you will proceed to Jinja as you enjoy incredible and picturesque of the beautiful countryside. Upon reaching Jinja in the evening, you will check in to your lodge, have dinner and then rest.

Day 9: Source of the Nile and white water rafting

After your morning breakfast, our guide/driver will transfer you to the source of the Nile river – which is known to be the longest river in Africa. From here you will head for white water rafting which is a thrilling but rewarding activity that you don’t have to miss out on your safari.

You will then head back to your lodge for lunch and after lunch you can go for an optional bungee jumping still on the Nile river.

Head back to your lodge for dinner and resting as well.
